Where It Began
The client approached us after discovering our Payou fintech mobile app on UI8 and wanted to build a similar design system tailored to their product. They shared a rough feature document divided into three phases, outlining a full fintech ecosystem including prepaid Mastercard cards, QR-based payments, currency conversion, digital store, and financial management tools. The expectation was to design a modern and scalable mobile app—but the product itself was not clearly structured yet. Our role was to translate this raw and feature-heavy concept into a clear, intuitive, and user-friendly fintech experience.
Challenges
Designing Alqaseh wasn’t just about creating screens—it required translating a loosely defined fintech roadmap into a structured and scalable product system. With over 200+ screens across financial services, card systems, transactions, currency handling, and digital commerce, maintaining clarity and consistency throughout the product was critical.
A major challenge was handling region-specific financial complexity, particularly Arabic-first interactions, multi-currency card management, and forex exchange behavior. Unlike typical fintech apps, users needed to manage multiple currencies within a single card—selecting, prioritizing, and controlling how each currency is used during transactions. Structuring this logic in a way that feels intuitive, predictable, and easy to use required deep product thinking.
At the same time, the product needed to balance feature-rich functionality with simplicity. From KYC onboarding to payments, transfers, and card management, every action had to feel seamless and understandable, while the system remains scalable and efficient for development across multiple release phases.
